Kate + Mike . New Bedford, Massachusetts wedding photographer

I've been waiting and waiting for the go ahead to blog this wedding and am so excited to finally be able to share!  This past spring I assisted my sweet friend Ruthie at Kate and Mike's amazing nautical themed wedding in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  It turned out to be one of the most unique and interesting weddings (in the best way) I have ever seen!  Kate was a sweetheart of a bride and Mike was smitten with his new love.  It rained on and off the entire day, but cleared out at just the right moments.  The ceremony boasted blue skies and pure joy.  Kate did the majority of the decor herself (she is quite the DIYer) while her bridesmaid did the florals.  That's right!  Can you believe it?  There was so much creativity between the two of those lovely ladies!  When I walked into the reception site, I didn't know what to photograph first.  It was a photographer's dream, and I'm sure it was a dream come true to Kate and Mike.  The entire day was designed around a fabulous pair of Kate Spade shoes.  Get ready for a gorgeous wedding detail overload.  And...go!

A sweet love note from Kate made Mike smile and my heart happy.  I love weddings.
Kate and Mike opted to see each other before the wedding.  The observation deck was the perfect location to share a private moment during an otherwise very public day.  It also protected Kate's gorgeous dress from the rain.

The wedding party was a lot of fun!

We continued taking photos in the cocktail hour location, which was actually a ship that had been reconstructed inside of this amazing venue.  Incredible.

The ceremony took place steps outside of the venue along the cobblestone streets of New Bedford.  I love the whale at the altar and the shadows of trees that danced across the brick wall.  What a beautiful day for a wedding!

Kate has amazing taste.  Her striped theme with accents of green popped in the best way!

Introducing for the very first time, the Mr. and Mrs!  The introduction, first dance, and toasts were a joyful celebration filled to the brim with emotion.

It was a beautiful day.  A fun night.  A wonderful celebration of love.  Kate and Mike, it was a pleasure meeting you!  I wish you a marriage as full of life and love as your wedding day.  Ruthie, thank you for letting me tag along on this one!
