Best. Day. Ever.

I can't tell you how long I've wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride.  Every since I can remember, I've been fascinated by the idea.  I've been talking about it actively for at least a decade.  "One day, I'm going to do that and it's going to be the best day ever."  There have been a few times that I've gotten close to a chance to go, but it hasn't happened...until my birthday.  My awesome boyfriend, Red (also known as Isaac), gave me the most amazing birthday present ever.  He told me he wanted a photography lesson, photographing covered bridges in New England at sunrise.  I was definitely suspicious (I'm not much of a morning person) but went along with it out of curiosity.  Red had been planning this for months.  Because he's awesome.  It really was the best day ever.

I always thought it was going to be scary to be so high up in a little basket, but it was peaceful and I felt very safe the entire time.  Not scary at all!  It helped that the pilot was a hot air balloon instructor.  He knew what he was doing.  He even took us into a forest and lowered the balloon until we could reach out and touch the tops of the trees around us.  Coolest thing ever.

An hour later, it was time to land.  I'm pretty sure our instructor was showing off a bit when he landed us in the front yard of a lawyer's office.  The lawyer waved out of his front window and just kept working as the hot air balloon staff deflated that massive balloon in the parking lot.  I will never ever forget this day.  Thank you, Isaac!
